Deputy Superintendent Jail Caught Red-Handed By Vigilance Bureau While Accepting Bribe

Chandigarh, April 28, 2016: Deputy Superintendent Jail Phagwara was arrested today by the Vigilance Bureau while accepting Rs.4000 as bribe from Neelam Kaur w/o Daljit Singh R/o Village Palahi in Phagwara .
Giving further details, the spokesman said that Deputy Jail Superintendent Jaswinder Singh Sodhi asked for Rs. 4000 as bribe from Neelam Kaur for not letting her brothers Amritpal Singh and Gurjinder Singh, who were in police custody, shift from sub jail Phagwara to Kapurthala Jail.
A trap was laid by the Vigilance Bureau where he was caught red handed while accepting bribe from Neelam Kaur. The bribe money was also recovered from the the spot. A case has been registered under section 7, 13 (2) of IPC Act 1988 in the Vigilance Bureau Jalandhar Range.
