Jalandhar, September 6, 2024: DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur, celebrated Teachers' Day with great enthusiasm and heartfelt respect for the educators who play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of students. The celebration was a testament to the school's deep appreciation for its teachers and their unwavering dedication. The day began with a warm and traditional gesture from the students, who greeted their teachers with heartfelt wishes, applied tilak, and presented them with vibrant flowers. This gesture set a tone of reverence and gratitude, reflecting the strong bond between the students and their mentors.

In the afternoon, a grand function was organized, graced by the presence of esteemed chief guest Sh. Amanpal Singh, PCS, SDM Phillaur, and Guest of Honour Mrs. Baljeet Kaur, a distinguished psychologist, trainer, motivator, entrepreneur, and life skills coach. The event commenced with the recital of the teacher's anthem, which resonated with pride and admiration, making every teacher feel honored and valued.

The school celebrated its annual tradition of challenging educators to showcase their academic and creative talents. This year’s focus was on innovation in the classroom through the Innovative Teaching Aid Creation (TLM) Competition. The occasion was further distinguished by the presence of the esteemed judges for the competition Sujata Midha and Vandana Kalia, a retired educator.

The cultural program featured a variety of performances. The tiny tots of the school charmed the audience with a delightful welcome dance, followed by performances showcasing cultural diversity, including a Gidha that highlighted the spirit of oneness. The teachers also took the stage, presenting a well-coordinated choreography, singing Punjabi cultural songs, and participating in fun-filled games that added a joyful element to the celebration.

A significant highlight of the event was the presentation of the Des Raj Vedhera Memorial Best Teacher Awards. Since 2018, the school has been honoring the dedication, hard work, and commitment of teachers from various distinguished schools across Jalandhar and the Jalandhar zone with these prestigious awards. This year, the tradition continued, recognizing the exceptional contributions of teachers to the field of education.
