Dev Samaj College of Education holds ‘NSS Day Celebrations’
Dev Samaj College of Education(DSCE) organized the 'NSS Day celebrations’. Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. Nemi Chand, State Liaison Officer, NSS Chandigarh Administration. The main objective of the celebration of this day is to spread awareness among the participants about the role and significance of NSS Units in the welfare of society. National Service Scheme Day is observed every year across the nation. NSS aims to provide hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service.
Chandigarh, September 26, 2023: Dev Samaj College of Education(DSCE) organized the 'NSS Day celebrations’. Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. Nemi Chand, State Liaison Officer, NSS Chandigarh Administration. The main objective of the celebration of this day is to spread awareness among the participants about the role and significance of NSS Units in the welfare of society. Dr.Agnese Dhillon, Secretary, College management appreciated the NSS Program Officers Dr. Madhvi Goyal and Ms. Karuna Singh for organizing the event.
Dr. (Mrs.) Richa Sharma, Officiating Principal of the college, welcomed the students of the new batch of 2023-25 who were formally inducted to the college by Charanjeet Kaur in a special ceremony ‘Deeksharambh’ as per the U.G.C. guidelines. The students were oriented about guidelines and achievements of the college and the expectations from the new students.
The new students were also administered the professional oath of teachers dedicated to the vision and mission of Dev Samaj.
In his address the Chief Guest highlighted the importance of discipline and education in empowerment of a person. He further elaborated that it is the hard work which is stronger than destiny.
The program included a few cultural performances also.
The function concluded with felicitation of the elected Student Council members with sachets and badges.
