Dewan attacked Modi government over petrol, diesel and cooking gas prices
Pawan Dewan, Chairman of PLIDB.

Ludhiana: Pawan Dewan, Chairman of Punjab Large Industrial Development Board, has attacked the Narendra Modi government at the Center over the ever-increasing prices of petrol-diesel and LPG. He questioned the central government whether it is compensating the loss of the closed toll plaza due to the farmers' movement.

In a statement issued here, Dewan said that the rising prices of petrol-diesel and cooking gas have made it difficult for the poor and middle class families of the country to run their homes. He said that in just 6 months, the rate of cooking gas has increased by about Rs 175 and the rate of cylinder has reached about Rs 800. Similarly, in the last 8 months, the prices of petrol and diesel have increased by about Rs 20 each, due to which petrol has reached about Rs 91 and diesel about Rs 82 per liter.

He questioned whether the Narendra Modi government of the Center was trying to meet the losses caused by the closure of toll plazas due to the farmers' movement by increasing the prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas. He said that the people of the country are remembering the UPA government led by Dr. Manmohan Singh today, when the country was progressing and the rate of commodities was within the reach of common man. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has today put the people of the country in great trouble.
