DGFT, FIEO & District Administration Hoshiarpur jointly organized "Capacity Building Export Training Programme"

Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) in association with the office of Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Regional Authority and District Administration Hoshiarpur jointly organized a “Capacity Building Export Training Programme” on Tuesday at the District Administrative Complex, Hoshiarpur.

Hoshiarpur, February 11, 2025: Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) in association with the office of Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Regional Authority and District Administration Hoshiarpur jointly organized a “Capacity Building Export Training Programme” on Tuesday at the District Administrative Complex, Hoshiarpur.
 
Dr. Manjeet Bhatoya, ITS Joint Directorate General of Foreign Trade Regional Authority, during her address shared various important support schemes offered by Government of India for the promotion of exporters & active roles played by the DGFT and various other agencies such as FIEO to support & promote exports from India.

She also added that, “For strengthening the export ecosystem, the Government will continue undertaking various initiatives and policies. Looking at the importance of increasing exports from India, the Government of India is pro- actively taking policy reforms and measures to increase exports of Indian products, for this various export-oriented schemes, such as One District One Product (ODOP) Scheme, Product Linked Incentive (PLI) Schemes and many more are being introduced, due to this active approach the future of Indian exports looks bright & positive”.
 
Sandeep Kumar (Assistant Branch Manager, Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Limited (ECGC) during his interaction shared various policies and schemes offered by ECGC. Exporters can take such policies while exporting their products to overseas markets. ECGC policies especially safeguard exporters payments and other interests, in case like, if their buyer defaults or if the buyer’s country is going through some political turmoil, which are affecting the trade. ECGC Ltd also help Indian exporters in getting credibility rating for their buyers. Knowing the credibility status of a buyer is also very important in case, if the Indian exporter is dealing for the first time or if the buyer is new.
 
Vinay Sharma (Deputy Director, Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) Punjab Chapter) while addressing participants said that, “FIEO has taken various key important initiatives for the promotion of exports from the country. FIEO organizes more than 50 International Trade Exhibitions all across the world covering all kind of products such as Auto-components, Hand Tools, Apparels, Textiles, Food products, Pharma, Ayurveda etc. FIEO also organizes various Business Delegation to various trading block or countries to promote India’s exports. For constitution of India’s Foreign Trade Policy, FIEO works very closely with Government of India. FIEO also take up exporters’ important issues with departments like Customs, GST, DGFT, Banks, through various Joint Working Groups or Committees at State and National level for favorable outcome”.
 
Kailash Sharma, (Superintendent of Post Office, India Post) during his interaction with participating delegates said that, “India Post has always tried to connect with the public through its multifaceted services. It has always been the endeavour of the Postal Department to deliver the postal packages safely to the destination in the least possible time. Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra (DNK) is an important initiative of the Department of Posts and CBIC, wherein the small exporters now can easily send their overseas consignments hassle free and can also electronically file their Postal Bill of Export online. The facilities under Dak Niryat Kendra (DNK) will also give a push to the One District-One Product initiative. DNK extend export services with automated IGST Refund and electronic payment reconciliation facility and has been set up to provide Single Window Facility to exporters to book their articles and complete all formalities from single counter in post office via online mode.  
                             
Aishwarya Mahajan, (Assistant Manager, Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts/ GICIA India Private Limited) during her interaction with the participating delegates said that, “EPCH is working with an object to promote, protect and increase the exports of handicrafts. EPCH provides support to artisans, craftsmen, and small-scale producers, enabling them to access global markets.
 
She further added that the council conducts market research, identifies trends, and provides feedback to its members. EPCH also facilitates trade by organizing exhibitions, trade fairs, and buyer-seller meets.
 
Vijendra Pal Mongia, (Regional Head, India EXIM Bank) shared various financing schemes which the EXIM Bank is offering to the exporting as well to the importing fraternity

The session was well attended by more than 60 delegates represented various business houses across the region.
