DGP Railway, IG, DC and SSP attend cremation of martyr ASI Bhagwan Singh

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and other senior police officials attending cremation of ASI Bhagwan Singh who died in an unfortunate incident at Jagraon yesterday. Cremation of the 2nd ASI would be held at Patti.

Ludhiana: Mortal remains of ASI Bhagwan Singh, who attained martyrdom when car-borne assailants opened fires during search operating in Jagraon grain market, were consigned to flames at cremation ground amidst top cops and hundreds of mourners and sympathizers who reached here to pay homage to the departed soul on Sunday.

Special Director General of Police (Railway) Sanjeev Kumar Kalra, along with Inspector General of Police (IGP Ludhiana range) Naunihal Singh, laid the wreath on the departed soul. Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma laid the wreath on behalf of the Punjab government during his last rites whereas SSP Charanjit Sing also laid the wreath.

They also shared heartfelt sympathies and condolences with the family of the martyr. They prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss in this hour of grief.
