Chandigarh: Shamsheel Singh Sodhi, English teacher of Government School, Dhanas, released his poetry collection Man Diyan Likhtan , Bharat Bhushan Verma and Shivinder Singh Mahal, the famous personalities of Punjabi film industry, were distinguished guests of the ceremony. Renowned Veteran Actor of Punjabi cinema Malkit Singh Rauni has written the preface of this book Chandigarh 30 Nov During nationwide lockdown due to corona when everything was closed and there was not much to do.
Shamsheel Sodhi, an English teacher of Government School, Dhanas, Chandigarh said that he wrote the poems during lock down and released the collection of poetry, Man Diya Likhtan, on Monday at Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti. Shamsheel said that Man divan Likhtan is 183 Punjabi poems poetry collection. He said that through his poems, he has given a message about the urgent and dire need to save the lost life philosophy, environment, culture and rituals.
Shamsheel said that he turned disaster into opportunity. by Utilizing the time of the lockdown, he has tried to deliver important messages through these poems. He said, the present-day generation is mimicking the culture of Western countries by forgetting our rituals, culture, environmental protection, respect for elders, love of books etc. This hurts his heart, so he has described the pain of his mind in his books, he said that he is fond of films depicting serious themes and social messages in Punjabi cinema and being influenced by the character of Malkit Ronnie of the film Ardas Karan.
