Dharamsala, July 18, 2024: The Municipal Corporation of Dharamsala, led by Commissioner Zafar Iqbal, will launch a comprehensive tree plantation campaign on July 28. The initiative aims to transform Dharamsala into a greener and cleaner city.
Commissioner Iqbal stated that the campaign will be systematically organized across all wards of the city, ensuring active participation from citizens and local public representatives. The initiative will not only focus on planting trees but also assign responsibility for their care to ensure sustainable growth.
Iqbal called on all citizens and voluntary organizations to participate enthusiastically, emphasizing the collective effort required to develop Dharamshala into a green city.
In addition to the tree plantation campaign, the Municipal Corporation is taking significant steps to enhance the city's aesthetic appeal and environmental health. Currently, 100% door-to-door garbage collection is being achieved, and new measures are being introduced for the separation and proper disposal of plastic waste.
Employees of the Municipal Corporation are receiving specialized training to monitor the correct disposal of plastic waste processors (PWPs). Commissioner Iqbal also urged residents to separate plastic and liquid waste at home to facilitate easier disposal, ensuring adherence to prescribed environmental standards.
The combined efforts of the Municipal Corporation and the community aim to make Dharamshala a model of cleanliness and greenery.
