Diagnostic services will be expanded in Kangra district: CMO
Says, around 125 tests will be done free of cost in government health institutions
Dharamshala, February 3, 2023: To make health services more accessible to the public in Kangra district, emphasis is being laid on expansion of diagnostic services. Under this, 40 test labs and 99 collection centers are to be established in various health institutions of the district.
Informing this the Chief Medical Officer, Kangra, Dr. Gurdarshan Gupta said “about 125 tests will be available free of cost to the people near their doorstep. now along with big hospitals, people will get the facility of different types of tests in rural areas too , so that they will not have to go far from their place of stay for general tests.”
CMO said that at present 10 laboratories and 40 collection centers have been established in government health institutions in the district, while the work of setting up such facilities at other places is in progress. Dr. Gurdarshan Gupta ,” earlier the facility of these tests was available only in some identified hospitals. But now it is being expanded up to Primary Health Center level after tie-up with Krishna Diagnostics Limited, Maharashtra in Public Private Partnership mode.”
The Chief Medical Officer said that under this scheme a total of 133 types of tests would be provided free of cost. In which 133 tests will be possible in Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College and Hospital Tanda and Zonal Hospital Dharamshala, 110 tests in Civil Hospitals, 96 in Community Health Centers and 63 in Primary Health Centers. The facility of all these tests will be free of cost. X-ray facilities will be strengthened in 20 health institutions of the district.
Dr. Gupta said that apart from this, CT-scan facility is also being provided in Zonal Hospital Dharamshala and Civil Hospital Nurpur and Palampur in Public Private Partnership in district Kangra.
