DIALOGUE ON Punjab State Cancer Survey on February 10

Ludhiana, February 5, 2013: Environmental Health Action Group- a constituentofKheti Virasat Mission is holding a dialogue on Punjab State Cancer Survey on February 10 at Golden Jubilee Auditorium Panjab University, Chandigarh.

According to available information, Punjab State Cancer Survey has been done by Punjab State Health Department.

Dr. Pyara Lal Garg, Executive Director, Punjab Health Resource Centre, who is the head and heart of this survey, shall present the findings of the study. 

Eminent Health Management Expert and Surgeon Dr S G Kabra from Jaipur, shall deliver special lecture on the whole issue of Cancer and its correlation with toxicity particularly pesticides.

Dr T K Joshi, Director, Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health , New Delhi will talk about Environmental Toxicity and  Dr J S Thakur who headed the PGIMER –PPCB study on Cancer in 2005 will give a special presentation on the Cancer issue.

Eminent Agriculture Scientist and Policy Expert Shri Davinder Sharma will present case of Organic Farming and Issues with Pesticides. 

Several Health Professionals, Oncologists, Social and Political thinkers and activists are likely to be part of this event. These include Dr K Nayak , Oncologist, Mohali, Dr A S Mann, President, Scientific Awareness Forum, Hamir Singh, Journalist and Political thinker, Sukhdev Singh Bhopal, Social Activist, Vineet Marwaha, Global Cancer Concern, Gurmeet Sapal, Film Producer and Director and Prof Manjit Singh, Sociologist, Panjab University, according to Umendra Dutt, Executive Director, Kheti Virasat Mission.
