Mika Singh preparing langar

Chandigarh, December 1, 2012: King of Punjabi pop and ace Bollywood singer Mika has always been talk of the town not just because of his back to back smash hit musical numbers, but a flamboyant lifestyle too. A die hard Punjabi by heart who remains in constant limelight due to controversies showed his spiritual side recently by organising a langar at a Gurudwara in Mumbai on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. Not just that, a strong believer in Sikhism, Mika surpassed the barriers of faith and religion by conducting a very similar kind of langar at world famous Islamic Shrine Haji Ali.

Speaking about his faith on God and journey as a singer, Mika Singh said, “I started out with very little, but now I have everything I could ever ask for. My journey has been a dream and it is with Guru's blessings that I have achieved success as a singer. And, what better way to show my appreciation, than to do “seva” at the Gurudwara and organise a langar. I believe in equality and have utmost faith in every religion. Best way to serve any religion is by serving humanity which is why I’ve organised similar type of langar service at Haji Ali too.”

Apart from these activities, very few know that Mika Singh also runs an NGO called ‘Divine Touch’ in Vikaspuri, New Delhi which works towards the empowerment of girls by providing them vocational training in a safe and encouraging environment. Other than that conducting free “langar” service at his farmhouse in Gurgaon is a frequent practice.
