Ludhiana, July 28, 2012: The Ludhiana leg of the Mahindra NBA Challenge got off to a rousing start as Ludhiana Academy stole the show on the opening day with a 102-15 thrashing of Khalsa International School, Potohar at Guru Nanak Stadium today.
Dildar was the star for Ludhiana Academy with 30 points but overall Khalsa International were simply overpowered by their opponents who performed brilliantly as a team.
Others to impress on the opening day which was partially marred by rain were Navbharti Public School who ran out comfortable 64-7 winners against Doraha Public School.
Sports School Jalandhar also grabbed a share of the spotlight hammering KVM Civil Lines 56-3. But it was Pau Model School and Guru Nanak International School who produced the match of the day with the latter edging a thrilling contest 45-44.
The 300-odd spectators who braved the gloomy weather to witness the opening day’s action were also treated to some fine shooting from Amritsar player Yadwinder whose 25 points earned his team a 65-50 victory over Faridkot.
