DIPS students celebrate Sarojini Naidu’s birth anniversary

Jalandhar, February 18, 2022: Sarojini Naidu’s birth anniversary was celebrated at Dips School, Bhogpur. The students started the program by offering flowers to the portrait of Sarojini Naidu. Poetry, singing and poster making activity were organized on this occasion. In poetry singing, children presented poems written by them.
The children told their classmates that Sarojini Naidu was a political activist of the freedom movement as well as a poet. She is called Bharat Nightingale. She never let his political journey affect his work. She would always write along with the freedom struggle. Sarojini Naidu was given the title of Kaiser-e-Hind by the Government of India in 1908. She was the first Governor of India and the first President of Mahila Congress.
Principal Gurveen Kaur said that Sarojini Naidu is an inspiration for girls not only in the times of independence but even today. At the age of 12, she started writing articles and poems in big newspapers. She has made a huge contribution in the field of literature which can never be forgotten.
