‘Unfurl United Nations’ Flag with National Flag on Oct 24’

Chandigarh, October 23, 2012: The Punjab Government has issued instructions to unfurl United Nations’ flag along with National flag on government buildings on United Nations Day on October 24.

            Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of state government said that Commissioners of the Divisions and Deputy Commissioners have been instructed to ensure the compliance. It has been asked to unfurl the United Nations flag on October 24 along with National flag on all the government buildings, where traditionally National flag unfurls in routine. As per the written instructions, it has been prohibited to unfurl United Nations’ flag upon Raj Bhawan/Raj Niwas and Vidhan Prishad, Raj Sabha and the buildings of upper courts. There is no restriction on unfurling United Nations’ flag on buildings of districts headquarters.
