DIRECTIONS: Provide full documents to ensure early settlement of pension cases

Chandigarh, January23, 2013: The Punjab government today issued strict directions to all government departments to send complete pension cases especially relating to change of option with full documentation to the office of Principal Accountant General (A&E) to ensure their early settlement.

According to an official Spokesman, all concerned departments have been directed that in all such cases the department should ensure that pension revision cases should be complete in all aspects. They should also ensure to check and make entry in the service book of the pensioner regarding pay fixation. The Spokesman said that it was imperative for the department to also send calculation sheet duly approved by pension sanctioning authority. The departments have been also directed to send a copy of change of option with dated signature of pensioner. He said that it was duty of the department to send service book of the pensioner along with latest copies of change in rate (C&R) issued by Accountant General Punjab. He said that the departments would also ensure to send complete address of pension sanctioning authority. The Spokesman said that these directions have been reiterated to all departments to ensure smooth and expeditious clearance of pension cases in a time bound manner and also to comply with the orders of Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Directions in this regard have been issued to all heads of departments, Commissioners of the Divisions and Deputy Commissioners of the state.
