A DISPLAY OF LIGHT AND COLOR, MACAO LANTERN FESTIVAL IS HERE!

Mumbai, September 20, 2016: The city of Macao is proud to present its first Macao Lantern Festival, co-organized by One Central Macao and Macao Government Tourism Office. A wondrous illuminated display of over 40 rabbit lanterns, commencing from 3rd September to 10th October 2016 to coincide with the Mid-Autumn Festival and the annual “Macao International Fireworks Display Contest”. Designed by leading Macanese architect and artist Carlos Marreiros, the waterfront promenade is transformed by the public art project to delight visitors. Creating an atmosphere of celebration, the must-see festival is extended with memorable evening boat-rides, delectable wine and dine pop-up stations, and spectacular firework displays. The fun-filled event encapsulates the spirit of abundance, familial love and coincides with the brightest moon of the year.
The centerpiece of One Central’s Macao Lantern Festival is a towering rabbit inflatable, illuminating the waterfront landscape. The inaugural Macao Lantern Festival presented the perfect occasion to extend Macao’s vision, with the spirited sculptural lanterns contributing towards the joy of Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations. Commanding the best location in Macao, One Central embraces both the hustle and bustle of the Macao Peninsula, as well as the tranquility and unparalleled views of the outer harbor, Nam Van Lake and Sai Van Lake, offering a one-of-a-kind backdrop for our guests to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival.
Macao Lantern Festival extends the celebratory happenings with evening boat-rides and select wine and dine stalls to offer delectable treats on the go. Creating unique full-moon gazing experiences, alfresco evening boat-riding sessions on Nam Vak Lake offers visitors memorable floating journeys.
