Jalandhar, March 19, 2016: Prof Atima Sharma, Principal, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar wins the much coveted “Distinguished Women Administrator Award” bestowed by the prestigious International Foundation at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This award was bestowed on the occasion of Women’s Day. The women of substance from across 25 countries were considered for this award of which high power selection committee selected the most deserving women for the award. Dr Atima Sharma is indeed a distinguished administrator. Under her able leadership, KMV has touched examplary heights of glory.
An alumna of Harvard Graduate School of Education, USA, she has also been instrumental in establishing Skill Development Centre in Kanya Maha Vidyalaya for Empowerment of women from disadvantaged families and has trained 1500 women in past 7 years in vocational skills, free of any cost. She is a luminous litterateur and has penned many books on literature & language. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi is also a creative writer par excellence. She is the Chief Editor of 2 International Journals also. A personality of international repute Dr Sharma has participated in conferences at Boston University (USA), Chatham University (USA), Beijing University (China), Hong Kong University, Birmingham University (U.K), Athens University (Greece), Columbia University (U.S.A), and Princeton University (U.S.A). Prof. Sharma had been selected by Harvard University (USA) to attend a prestigious programme-Management and Leadership in Higher Education in which only 20 heads of institution from across the globe were selected to participate. She has completed a Research Project with Harvard University. Her erudition, leadership qualities and wisdom has won her many international awards and honours. Her charismatic personality, dynamism and intellectual pursuits and her exemplary vision will continue to make a valuable contribution to the field of women empowerment.
