CENTRAL TEAM TO VISIT PUNJAB & CHOOSE BEST VILLAGE

Ludhiana, July 31, 2018: Under the Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018, all districts of the country would be surveyed between August 1-31, 2018. A team from Union government, along with officials from different government departments, would be visiting all villages of the state and the cleanest village would be chosen.

Deputy Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Agrawal informed that the District Administration is committed for making Ludhiana district number 1 in Swachh Survekshan Gramin 2018. He also appealed to the residents of Ludhiana district as well as the concerned officials to ensure that proper cleanliness arrangements are being made in all villages. A meeting to discuss the action plan regarding Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018 was held at DC office, here today.

The DC said that Ludhiana district always actively contributes in various drives organised for the betterment of the society. He said that for the success of Mission Tandrust Punjab, several efforts have been made in the district and expect that the officials would also work hard for the success of Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018.

The DC urged the officials to follow all necessary parameters and also take help of NGOs in making people aware about Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018. He directed that the daily report should be sent to the office of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) so that the District Administration can compile the daily report and supervise the ongoing work. He also urged the nodal officers to perform their duties with utmost devotion and honesty. He also asked the Health Department officials to ensure that adequate arrangements for disposal of bio medical waste are made at all hospitals and dispensaries. He directed the education department officials to ensure that cleanliness is maintained at all schools, aanganwari centres, etc and the tree saplings planted under Mission Tandrust Punjab are properly maintained.

The DC said that villages, schools, aanganwari centres and health centres that perform really well in terms of cleanliness would be honoured financially on October 2, 2018. He informed that a mobile app would also be launched through which residents can submit problems of their villages, achievements and activities along with photographs for providing feedback.

The Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018 would be based on three parameters, such as 30 numbers for personal inspection of team, 35 numbers of residents feedback, and 35 numbers for parameters such s cleanliness coverage, percentage of ODF villages, GPS mapping of public toilets through mobile app, number of public toilets being constructed in villages etc.

He informed that this the Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018 would be based on the feedback of public about the cleanliness and basic amenities of schools, aanganwari centres, health centres, bazaar, panchayat, religious places, public places etc. ADC (D) Dr Shena Aggarwal and Assistant Commissioner (G) Mr Om Parkash and others were also present.
