Ludhiana, December 3, 2019: Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal today said that differently abled persons are an important part of our society and stressed that to excel in life, mental strength is more important than physical strength. He said while addressing the function on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities at District Bureau of Employment & Enterprises, here today.
A large number of differently abled persons participated in this function. Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal was the chief guest.
He said that no person is complete in itself and that is why, if one wants to excel in life, that person should have mental toughness more than even the physical one. By giving examples, the Deputy Commissioner said that differently abled persons have contribute to a large extent in strengthening our nation as well as the society.
He informed that the Punjab government has always supported the differently abled to ensure that they become self dependent. He said that today’s awareness and placement camp for differently abled was also organised by the state government at DBEE Ludhiana to achieve the same purpose. More than 60 needy persons participated in today’s function.
Mr Agrawal said that the DBEE offices throughout the state educate and support youth who want to become self dependent and facilities such as training, jobs, loan and others are provided to them. He informed that UID cards are being made of differently abled persons so that they do not face any problems for availing benefits of government welfare schemes. He further said that DBEE organises Placement Camp on every Friday of the month at DBEE office Pratap Chowk, from 10:30 am to 1pm, where education eligibility is 10th, 12th, Graduation, ITI and various Diploma. He urged the youth to avail full benefit of the DBEE.
On this occasion, Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal also interacted with the differently abled persons, who shared their grievances with him. The Deputy Commissioner assured all possible cooperation from the district administration side. Some of the participants were also selected by different companies for providing jobs.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included ADC Jagraon Mrs Neeru Katyal Gupta, District Social and Security Officer Mrs Inderpreet Kaur, Deputy Director Mrs Meenakshi Sharma, Deputy CEO Mr Navdeep Singh, besides several others.
