DISTRICT COLLECTOR dismisses Patwari in graft case

Ferozepur, February 12, 2013: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Collector, Manjit Singh Narang, dismissed Sohan Lal, patwari, from government services, in the bribe case of Rs.1,000 when Devinder Kumar, resident of Panni Wala Mahla, for giving a copy of Zamabandi on May 17, 2005, while posted at Panni Wala Mahla of Abohar Teshil.

Narang said, a case of bribe was registered on March 17, 2006 under sections  713(2) 88 PC Act at Ferozepur City police station and Sohan Lal patwari was awarded the punishment of two years imprisonment and a fine of Rs.5,000 on August 24, 2011 by Special Judge, Ferozepur.

Keeping this in view and instructions on the subject, all legal and administrative formalities were completed.  Since no relief was given any higher court against the punishment awarded to Sohan Lal, Patwari, the deputy commissioner dismissed his services under rule 311(2) and Appeal Rules 1970 and rule 18(1), dismissed his services.  This dismissal is such that he will not be in a position to join any government service.
