District Legal Services Authority Kapurthala to hold National Lok Adalat on November 23

Kapurthala, October 24, 2013: In accordance with the instructions of National Legal Services Authority, National Lok Adalat is being held on November 23. This Lok Adalat shall be held at all levels right from Supreme Court of India to Taluk (Sub Divisional) Courts. In this regard, District Legal Services Authority, Kapurthala is also holding Lok Adalat on November 23 in all the courts of District Kapurthala as well as sub-divisions Sultanpur Lodhi and Phagwara, wherein various types of cases such as Criminal Compoundable Cases, Cheque Bounce Cases, Motor Accident Claim Cases, Matrimonial Disputes, Labour Dispute cases, Civil Cases, rent cases, bank recovery cases, Criminal and Civil Appeals, and covered matters shall be taken up for disposal. Apart from the judicial courts, this lok Adalat shall also be held in revenue courts wherein the revenue cases such as mutation cases, partition cases etc. shall be taken up for disposal.

Further all type of Electricity and Water bill cases (excluding theft cases), service matters relating to pay, allowances and retiral benefits, forest act cases, railway claims, disaster compensation cases shall also be taken up in this Lok Adalat.

Gurmit Ram Banyal, District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Kapurthala desired that general public should avail maximum benefit of this Lok Adalat and also said that the prime objective of the Lok Adalats is to settle the disputes amicably through compromise so as to save the time and money of the parties and to reduce personal enmity between them. The decisions are taken in the Lok Adalats through compromise and in case of settlement of cases in the Lok Adalat, the entire court fee is refunded and the decision of Lok Adalat is final.

In order to settle the cases in the National Lok Adalat to be held on November 23, pre-lok Adalats shall also be held by the Courts from time to time.
