District level nodal officer be deputed to deal with compassionate ground cases: Dr. Cheema
Chandigarh, December 10, 2014: The Education Department has given go ahead to depute Nodal Officer in all the districts to deal with the compassionate ground cases for recruitment. These Nodal officer would be responsible for the scrutiny of such cases and subsequently putting such cases for the approval of the authorities. Nodal officers would personally ensure recruitment letter to the kin of the diseased employee after putting up any case in specified time.  
Disclosing this here today Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister, Punjab said that concerned District Education Officer have been given the mandate to depute Nodal Officer from amongst the officers of the department. He said that this Nodal Officer would personally visit the home of the diseased employee and would prepare the case. He said that Nodal Officer would be held responsible if the kin of the deceased employee has to wander around the government offices for getting his case cleared. If the Nodal Officer found that the any application is not supported with requisite documents, he would personally visit the home of the applicant and ensure the case is cleared in time bound manner.
The Education Minister further said that strict instructions have been issued to the senior officers of the department to clear the pendency of compassionate ground cased till December 31, 2014. He said that officer have also been told to ensure that all the applicants must get recruitment letters before this date.
