District Level Two-Day Rural Sports From March 12

Ludhiana, March 11, 2016: For promoting sports culture amongst the youth, the Rural Development and Panchayat Department Punjab would be organizing Rural Sports at village Kot Gangurai near Samrala on March 12 & 13, 2016. All arrangements for the same have already been completed. During these games, the events of tug of war, volleyball and kabaddi would be held.
While providing information, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Miss Apneet Riyait informed that earlier these games were organised on block level (excluding Raikot block) and now the winner teams would be pitted against each other at village Kot Gangurai near Samrala on March 12 & 13, 2016. In these games, teams of boys, girls and Panchayat members would be participating.
These Rural Games would be inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Mr Ravi Bhagat ar 12:30 pm on March 12, 2016, while the prize distribution would be done by Punjab Irrigation Minister Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon at 4 pm on March 13, 2016. During this two-day sports event, prizes worth Rs 4 lakh would be distributed amongst the winners.
