District Planning Committee elections held unanimously

Ferozepur, September 26, 2012: The reorganisation of District Planning Committee out of the Zila Parishad members was today held unanimously and Akali-BJP alliance captured 9 seats, out of which 8 members are related to Shiromani Akali Dal and one member of Bhartiya Janata Party.

ADC-cum-Presiding Officer, Pritam Singh Johal informed that as per the directions of the Punjab Government, out of 12 members of District Planning Committee, 9 members were to be elected.  He informed that in the election process, two members filed their nominations whereas one member was absent.

On this occasion, ADC (Dev)-cum-Presiding Officer, Pritam Singh Johal informed that Shiromani Akali Dal elected members Bibi Manjit Kaur, Satnam Singh, Swaran Singh, Kuljinder Singh, Jarnail Singh, Balkar Singh, Chamkaur Singh, Rachhpal Singh and Jinder Kaur of Bhartiya Janta Party.

Johal further informed that tomorrow the members from the Municipal Council will be elected for District Planning Committee and in this way, 9 members will be from Zila Parshad, 3 members from Municipal Council and the remaining three members will be nominated by the State Government at their own level.

On the unanimous election of members of the District Planning Committee, Kamal Sharma, political advisor to chief minister, Punjab and Joginder Singh Jindu, MLA Ferozepur Rural constituency, congratulated the newly elected members.

On this occasion, Bhupinder Singh Faridewala, senior Akali leader, Baljinder Singh, private secretary, Master Gurnam Singh, secretary general SAD, D.P.Chandan,vice chairman, Small Trades Board, Punjab, Natinder Kumar Mukhija, district president, BJP, Kittar Singh, Lakhwinder Songh, Jugraj Singh Katora, BJP leader, Ashwani Dhingra. Ashwani Grover president Municipal Council and Akali-BJP leaders were present.
