DLSA organises Traffic Challan Lok Adalat
Settles 84 cases, collects fine of Rs 1.27 lakh
Ludhiana: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ludhiana Saturday organized a special traffic challan Lok Adalat in which as many as 84 cases were settled and a fine worth Rs 1.27 lakh was collected.
Disclosing further information in this regard, DSLA chairman-cum- District and Sessions Judge Munish Singal said that nine benches were constituted for this special Lok Adalat. He said that 700 traffic challans were listed out of which 84 challans were settled and a fine of Rs 1.27 lakh was also collected.
He said that during the hearing, the amount of the fine for challans was also reduced and some challans were also cancelled.
DLSA Secretary Prabhjot Singh Kaleka appealed to the people to obey the traffic rules for their safety.
He said that people could approach the District Legal Services Authority or the concerned courts for the settlement of cases through the Lok Adalats. Singh said that the decision of Lok Adalat was the final, which could not be challenged further.
The District and Session Judge said that Lok Adalats were instrumental in saving the time and money of the people besides promoting harmony amongst the people.
He said that the people could also get their cases resolved through the Mediation Centre in the District Judicial Complex.
