DMC&H achieves milestone in Bariatric Surgery: Successfully operates on 220 kg obese patient

Ludhiana, January 4, 2025: In a remarkable medical achievement, DMC&H has successfully performed a life-changing bariatric surgery on a patient weighing 220 kg. This landmark procedure underscores the hospital's commitment to advancing healthcare and improving patient outcomes.

The laparoscopic mini-gastric bypass surgery was performed on January 1, 2025, by a team led by Dr. Prabhdeep Singh Nain and Dr. Ashish Ahuja, Professor, Department of Surgery. Using state-of-the-art techniques and a multidisciplinary approach, the team addressed the severe obesity and associated health complications of the patient, he has been discharged and is on the path to recovery.
