DMCH acquires Biofire filmarray
Department of Microbiology at DMCH, Ludhiana has acquired the latest technology Biofire filmarray
Ludhiana, April 4, 2022: Department of Microbiology at DMCH acquired the latest technology Biofire filmarray which is used for rapid detection of multiple pathogens in brain, lung and gastrointestinal infections. It can identify bacteria, viruses and fungi in samples within 1hour, thus helpful in critical patients for guiding appropriate treatment.
Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary DMCH Managing Society inaugurated the machine and also inaugurated the newly constructed complex near Physiotherapy Department at which two testing centres - Integrated Counselling and Testing (ICTC) centre for HIV, NTEP microscopy centre for Tuberculosis were shifted and emphasized that the DMC&H management is committed to provide the best equipment and services to the patients of this region at affordable cost.
In his message Dr Sandeep Puri, Principal DMCH said that DMCH is the first among Medical Colleges of Punjab to start this service for patient care further Dr Puri congratulated the Department of Microbiology to acquire this latest technique.
Dr Veenu Gupta, Professor and Head Department of Microbiology said that the Microbiology lab at DMCH is equipped with state of the art equipment and our team work round the clock to provide the best services to their patients.
Integrated Counselling and Testing centre for HIV centre (ICTC) and NTEP microscopy centre for Tuberculosis are national programs which are run by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India. By obtaining this new complex these both programs will work together and will impart the best medical services to the public also.
