DMC&H Annual Convocation 2024: A celebration and Launch of Liver Transplant Unit
DMC&H conducted its prestigious Convocation Ceremony today for the MBBS Batch of 2018, conferring 73 MBBS degrees, 71 certificates, and 15 medals to its outstanding graduates.
Ludhiana, October 26, 2024: DMC&H conducted its prestigious Convocation Ceremony today for the MBBS Batch of 2018, conferring 73 MBBS degrees, 71 certificates, and 15 medals to its outstanding graduates.
Chief Guest for the event was Professor Dr. Pammi Gauba, Dean Academics and Research, Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, Noida. Guest of Honour was Dr Rakesh Gorea, Registrar, Baba Farid University of Helath Sciences,Fardidkot and he was the alumni of DMC&H Batch 1975.
President DMC&H Managing Society, Sunil Kant Munjal; Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, Bipin Gupta; Treasurer DMC&H Managing Society, Mukesh Verma; Principal, Dr G S Wander; Dean Academics, Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Medical Suptds. Dr Ashwani K Chaudhary, Dr Sandeep Sharma, Chief Cardiologist cum co-ordinator HDHI, Dr Bishav Mohan also graced the event.
On this significant occasion, the state- of the art Liver Transplant Unit also inaugurated by our chief guest. This unit provides a highly specialized care to the patients suffering from end stage liver disease and other complex liver condition.
Led by Dr. Gursagar Singh Sahota, Chief Liver Transplant Surgeon and his team this unit is equipped with latest technology and provides comprehensive care, from pre-transplant evaluations to post-operative support, ensuring that patients receive seamless and life-saving interventions.
The convocation started with an impressive academic procession.
Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics, introduced the chief guest and the guest of honour to the audience and congratulated fresh young medical graduates.
Principal, Dr G S Wander, expressed pride in the achievements of the graduates and read ‘Annual College Report’. In his report, Dr. Wander outlined the institution's notable accomplishments and emphasized DMC&H's commitment to excellence in medical education, research, and healthcare services.
Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, Bipin Gupta, wished all the students for a successful career ahead and congratulated the students to prove their ability in the field of patient care and bring laurels to DMC&H. Further, Sh Gupta Highlighted that, conferring of degrees today reflects the hard work and dedication of our graduates. They have been trained not only in the science of medicine but also in the values of compassion and service, and we are confident they will be exceptional ambassadors of DMC&H in the healthcare field.
Speaking on the occasion, President, DMC&H Managing Society Sh Sunil Kant Munjal, said that incorporate technology in your practices and for innovation, research initiatives , new knowledge and documentation. Further he expressed pride when we see our alumnus being successful, doing well for themselves and for community. Being a learning institution the skills you have acquired here have not only made you a better doctor but also a good human being.
In his key note address, (Professor) Dr. Pammi Gauba, Dean Academics & Research, congratulated the all students for their accomplishments and reaching with remarkable milestone. She urged the students, to grab the each opportunity and challenges of your life. Being a doctor you a leader for the society and it is your responsibility to improve the access and affordability of medical care facilities. Use technology wisely to promote preventive care, well being and healthy lifestyle within your community.
To follow the guiding principels of Dayanand Sarswati ji and remember that your role goes beyond treating illness. Through outreach programs, we can uplift society by making healthcare accessible to all. Adopt an interdisciplinary and holistic approach in your practice, and ensure good communication within your teams to provide the best care for your patients.
‘Dr Bhavik Sethi’ was awarded the title of Best Graduate and Second Best Graduate was ‘Dr Nishma Dhand’ and best all rounder award was bagged by Dr Harpavit Singh Sahota, MBBS batch 2018.
