DMCH Cancer Care Centre in collaboration with AOI launches Punjab Region’s First Advanced Radiotherapy Varian Halcyon E

Ludhiana, April 28, 2022: DMCH Cancer Care Centre, Ludhiana in collaboration with American Oncology Institute (AOI) launched Punjab Region’s first advanced Radiotherapy, Varian Halcyon E. On the occasion, present were Chief Guest Gurpreet Bassi (Gogi), MLA Ludhiana (West) along with Sunil Kant Munjal, President, DMCH, Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary, DMCH, Dr. Sandeep Puri, Principal, DMCH, Dr. G S Wander, Vice Principal, DMCH, Dr. Vijay Vemuri, Group COO South Asia, CTSI and Dr. Neeraj Bishnoi, Regional COO, AOI. 

Varian’s Halycon E is designed to revolutionize radiotherapy enabling doctors to set new benchmarks in cancer care. The system delivers highly targeted cancer treatments with extreme precision and accuracy, at a speed that is up to four-time faster than standard technology. It further simplifies critical techniques like Craniospinal irradiation (CSI) for patients with central nervous system malignancies. The facility optimizes image-guided radiotherapies like cone-beam CT imaging within 17 seconds and helps in speeding up the treatment process.
