With an initiative to promote the life-saving importance of organ donation, Department of  Nephrology, Urology and Kidney Transplant organized a exhibition at DMC&H OPD Block on the occasion of World Organ Donation Day.

Ludhiana, August 13, 2024: With an initiative to promote the life-saving importance of organ donation, Department of  Nephrology, Urology and Kidney Transplant organized a exhibition at DMC&H OPD Block on the occasion of World Organ Donation Day.

The purpose of conducting this exhibition was to educate the community on the various aspects of organ donation.
Secretary DMC&H Managing Society, Bipin Gupta, urged the general public to come forward and gift their organ  for the noble cause. A  organ donation can save  lives as well as improve the quality of life for those in need.

In his message, Principal Dr G S Wander said that medical advancements  have made the organ transplants safer and more accessible. Organ donation is not just a medical procedure it is a ray of hope for patients and families, being part of this society, we should come together to support this cause and bridge the gap between demand and availability highlighted Dr Wander.

Dr Vikas Makkar, Professor & Head Department of Nephrology, said that DMC&H has actively start registered organ donor transplant prograame.

Dr Vikas Kumar , Assistant Professor and  In-charge Renal Transplantation Unit DMC&H highlighted that DMC& H is actively doing live renal transplant and our team is well geared up for deceased organ transplant as well.

The event was also  attended by Mr. Mukesh Kumar, Treasurer  DMC&H Managing Society; along with  Dr. Sandeep Sharma, Medical Superintendent; Dr. Harman Deep Singh, Dr. Arvind Goyal from the Department of Urology; and Dr. Preet Singh Mohinder Sohal and Dr. Simran Kaur from the Department of Nephrology.
