DMCH Doc made people aware about preventing Hepatitis infection

Ludhiana: On World Hepatitis Day falling today, Department of Gastroenterology conducted   online awareness lecture for the public to make them aware of staying safe from getting infected by Hepatitis infection.
According to Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina, Professor of Gastroenterology, Viral hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver that causes a range of health problems, including liver cancer.
There are different types of Hepatitis which include Hepatitis A that usually gets spread from close and personal contact with an infected person, such as through certain types of sexual contact, caring for someone who is ill, or sharing drugs with others. Hepatitis A is very contagious, and people can even spread the virus before they feel sick. Other types like Hepatitis B and C viruses are spread through contact with blood or bodily fluids of a person with the virus. The viruses are not spread through casual contact, such as holding hands, sharing eating utensils or drinking glasses, breastfeeding, kissing, hugging, coughing, or sneezing.
It is necessary to take proper precaution and take prescribed vaccination for fighting against silent killer disease.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, viral hepatitis continues to claim thousands of lives every day and we need to be aware of to curb this silent killer in the initial stage of its inception.
