DMCH doctor gets National Award on Teachers Day
Ludhiana, September 9, 2021: Dr. Sarit Sharma, Professor of Community Medicine in Dayanand Medical College & Hospital Ludhiana was awarded with prestigious 37th Dr S. Radhakrishnan Memorial National Teachers Award-2021 by Union Minister Ramdas Athawale (Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment).
The function was organized to commemorate the 134th birth anniversary of former President of India Late Dr. S. Radha Krishnanby Akhil Bharatiya Swatantra Patrakaravom Lekhak Sangh, an association of freelance journalist and writers of India in New Delhi on 6th September 2021. Thirty Five eminent personalities fromall over India were honoured for their outstanding contribution in the field of Education, Medical Education, Media and Social Services.
Speaking on the occasion, Athawlae said that teachers, medical educationists, social activists all play an important role in Nation building and their importance has even increased during Covid-19 pandemic. He appreciated the contribution of award winners in their respective fields and motivated them to work even harder for taking the nation to newer heights.
Prem Gupta, secretary DMCH managing society, Dr. Sandeep Puri, Dr GS Wander, Dr Ashwani Chaudhary, Dr. Sandeep Sharma, Dr Bishav Mohan and Dr. Sandeep Kaushal congratulated Dr. Sarit Sharma on his achievement and wished him success in his future endeavours.
Dr. Sarit Sharma is a medical teacher for approximately 21 years and has been teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. In addition, he is also actively involved in public health activities, providing health education in community and research. He has published many research papers in national and international medical journals and presented his research work in many conferences. Recently he was also conferred with the Fellowship of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine (FIAPSM).
