DMC&H doctor selected for international Rome Foundation's membership
DMC&H is proud to announce that Dr. Omesh Goyal, Professor of Gastroenterology, has been selected to represent India on the esteemed ‘Rome Partners Education Committee’, Rome Foundation, USA. This distinguished nine-member global panel comprises renowned experts and emerging leaders in Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders from the USA, Europe, and Asia.

Ludhiana, February 14, 2025: DMC&H is proud to announce that Dr. Omesh Goyal, Professor of Gastroenterology, has been selected to represent India on the esteemed ‘Rome Partners Education Committee’, Rome Foundation, USA. This distinguished nine-member global panel comprises renowned experts and emerging leaders in Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders from the USA, Europe, and Asia.
As the global authority on Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), dyspepsia, constipation, etc., the Rome Foundation has been instrumental in developing international practice guidelines and promoting education over the past two decades. The mission of this foundation is to improve the lives of people with Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction.
Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society lauded the achievement of Dr Goyal and it is a matter of honor for our institution. Further Sh Gupta, highlighted that the Department of Gastroenterology at DMC&H has state of the art facilities for comprehensive gastro care.
Principal, Dr G S Wander, congratulated Dr Goyal and said that his contribution to research and education is remarkable and his appointment to this esteemed committee reflects his tireless efforts in his field and will help to improve patient care. Dr. Goyal has achieved a notable milestone by becoming only the second Indian to be selected as a committee member of the prestigious Rome Foundation highlighted Dr Wander.
Dr Ajit Sood, Professor & Head Department of Gastroenterology, DMC&H greeted Dr Omesh on his well deserved recognition and wished him continued success in representing India on the global stage.
Giving information about his achievement, Dr. Goyal expressed his enthusiasm, stated that as a member of the Rome Partners Education Committee, I look forward to contributing to the Rome Foundation's mission to advance education and research in Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders.
This affiliation will also benefit our students, providing them with a unique opportunity to participate in international collaborative research projects. Additionally, they will have access to interactive online sessions with global experts, fostering a rich learning experience and exposure to the latest advancements in the field.
