DMC&H hosts 4th IAPSM Young Leaders’ National Conclave
Department of Community Medicine, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana is organizing the 4th IAPSM Young Leaders’ National Conclave on 4th& 5th November. The theme for the conference is “Community Medicine Physician: Expectations, Reality & Progression” and focused on capacity building of community medicine physicians for various public health issues.
Ludhiana, November 4, 2023: Department of Community Medicine, Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana is organizing the 4th IAPSM Young Leaders’ National Conclave on 4th& 5th November. The theme for the conference is “Community Medicine Physician: Expectations, Reality & Progression” and focused on capacity building of community medicine physicians for various public health issues.
The event was inaugurated by a lamp lightening ceremony by Chief Guest, Dr AM Kadri, President, IAPSM, Dr Prushottam Giri, Secretary General, IAPSM, Secretary DMC&H Managing Society, Bipin Gupta, Mukesh Kumar, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society, PMC Member, Dr Apjinder Kaur, Civil Surgeon, Dr Hitender Kaur, Dr GS Wander, Vice Principal, DMC&H, Dr Ashwani Chaudhary and Dr Bishav Mohan, Medical Suptds and other dignitaries.
Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society congratulated and appreciated the efforts of Department of Community Medicine to conduct this national conclave.
Dr Anurag Chaudhary, Professor and Head, Community Medicine and organizing chairperson, said that this conference has been organized consecutively for 4 years to bring together the great minds of community Medicine to share their research among the fraternity and DMC&H is proud to host it this year”
Dr Sarit Sharma, Professor, Community Medicine and organizing co-chairperson said, “This conference is organized to especially to involve young faculty members and PG Students of Community Medicine, to actively take part and take a leadership role in public and community health. For eliminating, controlling, eradicating and elevating problems faced by the community”
Dr Arvind Mathur, WHO Representative, Timor-Leste was the keynote speaker of the conference and highlighted the importance of youth leadership to bring a change in overall policy and health environment when it comes to national public health programs
One of the young delegate Dr Ashish Rawat from Meerut said that from this conference we came to know about different avenues of community medicine and what different fields we can work in. there are many mentors in this conference who are keen to answer any questions we have. So this is a very fruitful experience for any young doctor.
First day of conference went with vibrant high notes, plenary sessions, panel discussions and scientific paper presentations. Dr AM Kadri & Dr Prushottam Giri represented as National IAPSM Team.
Sanjeev Arora (MP Rajya Sabha) was part of session on Meet the Parliamentarian, where various public health issues prevalent were discussed.
Session on Professional Development in Community Medicine was attended by Dr Sanjay Zodpey (President, PHFI), Dr Sandeep Bhalla (ECHO India) and Dr Archisman Mohapatra (GRID Council).
More than 300 delegates including faculty and post graduate residents from all over India attended the conference. Various debates and session s made this conference more lively and interactive.
Dr Sangeeta Girdhar & Dr Mahesh Satija is Organizing Secretary for the conference. Dr Vikram Kumar Gupta, Dr Priya Bansal, Dr Surinder Pal Singh, Dr Pranjl Sharma & Nishant Sharma are part of Organizing Committee of the Conference.
