DMC&H organised CME on Safe Motherhood and Women’s Health Promotes Awareness and Advances in Women’s Healthcare
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology organized a CME program titled “Safe Motherhood and Women’s Health” at the Main Hall of the DMC&H College Campus. This CME brought together leading experts, medical practitioners, and scholars to promote advanced research, best practices, and awareness around critical issues in women’s health and high-risk obstetrics.
Ludhiana, November 11, 2024: The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology organized a CME program titled “Safe Motherhood and Women’s Health” at the Main Hall of the DMC&H College Campus. This CME brought together leading experts, medical practitioners, and scholars to promote advanced research, best practices, and awareness around critical issues in women’s health and high-risk obstetrics.
Organized under the leadership of Dr. Ashima Taneja, Professor and Head, Department of Gynaecology, and co-organized by Dr. Suman Puri, Professor, Department of Gynaecology. The CME saw contributions from Dr. Sunil K Juneja and Dr. Pooja Tandon, who served as the Organizing Secretary and Joint Organizing Secretary, respectively. Inauguration ceremony was led by Dr. Muskan Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, Department of Gynaecology.
The event was graced by Sh. Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H, Managing Society as the esteemed chief guest. Guest of Honor was Dr. Hafeez Rahman, Gynaecologist and Laparoscopic Surgeon, Sunrise Hospital. He is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for conducting largest number of Laparoscopic surgeries.
Additionally, the program was attended by dignitaries Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society, Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics and Dr. Jasmine Dahiya, Vice President PMC.
In his address, Sh. Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H, congratulated the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology on its dedication to organizing such a valuable educational initiative. He encouraged UG and PG Students for their active participation.
The CME commenced with a quiz, supervised by Dr. Surbhi Handa, Assistant Professor, Department of Gynaecology. It was followed by lectures and panel discussions by experts on recent advances in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Panel discussion on recent guidelines was moderated by Dr Swati Jain, Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
A standout feature of the CME was the exhibition of research papers and posters by PG & UG Students, showcasing recent studies and innovative approaches in obstetrics and gynaecology.
The CME concluded with a valedictory session conducted by Dr. Rooprishma Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Gynaecology, where participants shared reflections on the day’s sessions and expressed their appreciation for the event’s comprehensive and hands-on approach to knowledge sharing. The event organizers, along with the dignitaries, commended the commitment and enthusiasm of all attendees, reiterating the shared goal of advancing the health and well-being of women through better care, research, and education.
It was attended by more than 250 delegates from Punjab, Delhi, Uttarakhand, and HP.
