DMCH organises NW chapter of IAPM
The Indian Association of Pathology and Microbiology (IAPM) and the Department of Pathology at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital conducted the NW Chapter of IAPM Conference.
Ludhiana, April 2, 2023: The Indian Association of Pathology and Microbiology (IAPM) and the Department of Pathology at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital conducted the NW Chapter of IAPM Conference. The event was attended by Prem Kumar Gupta, secretary of the DMCH managing society, Anita Borges, a well-known pathologist of international renown, Dr. Nirmala Jambhaker, a well-known bone pathologist, and Dr. Sunil Pasricha, a well-known hematopathologist from the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute Delhi. These were the conference's resource faculty speakers.
Both Dr. Vijay Bodal, a member of the NMC, and Dr. Pritpal Singh, a member of the PMC, attended the event and gave the conference 4 credit hours.
Pathology's stalwart, Dr. Anita Borges, talked on "Salivary Gland and Thyroid Tumors" and engaged with aspiring pathologists.
Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary, DMCH Management Society, praised the pathology department's efforts and thanked the guests for coming to the campus. He added that both seasoned pathologists and aspiring ones can learn a lot from attending these seminars.
Dr. Harpreet Puri, the event's organising chairman, presented a welcome speech and provided a quick summary of the scientific schedule. She added that events like this allow pathologists to network, share resources, and make new discoveries for the benefit of both patients and aspiring pathologists.
Dr. Uma Handa presented on "Effusion Cytology-processing to reporting," Dr. Radhika Srnivasan spoke on "Update on Ovarian Cancer," and Dr. Nirmala Jambhekar spoke on "Approach to Bone Tumors." On "Tumors with Unknown Primary-How to Navigate," Dr. Sunil Pasricha addressed.
More than 80 poster papers and about 50 oral presentations were given by delegates from various North-West Indian regions. The top five oral and poster presentations received awards. A total of 19 companies participated with the newest technology.
The intellectual feast and hospitality of Ludhiana and DMCH were appreciated by academics.
