Ludhiana, March 15, 2025: Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMC&H) Ludhiana, a leading healthcare institution in North India, has rolled out an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system designed to enhance patient care in multiple ways. It will allow physicians to securely access real-time patient data from any location, improve clinical decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.
The EMR system seeks to enhance patient satisfaction and improve the hospital’s administrative efficiency. It will allow doctors to retrieve a patient’s complete medical history with a single click, reduce redundant paperwork and significantly reduce delays in healthcare. Patients can expect more efficient services, accurate prescriptions, and better-coordinated treatment plans. The system will also help advance medical research by making it easier to remain in sync with regional, national, and international healthcare guidelines.
The EMR system was inaugurated by Sunil Kant Munjal, President of the DMC&H Managing Society who said: “This institution was set up to serve society; we will now be able to do so even more smartly and transparently, as we continue on our quest to develop a world-class patient-centric healthcare ecosystem.”
The EMR system enhances integration among various specialties since critical patient details and previous admission records are seamlessly shared. The user-friendly interface minimizes manual data entry errors, improves communication among healthcare teams and ensures data security. The new digital platform also optimizes nursing workflows, thus reducing the time spent on manual data maintenance; in turn, this allows healthcare professionals to allot more time to patient care. Overall, these efficiencies strengthen clinical decision-making and improve long-term healthcare planning.
The EMR system was inaugurated in the presence of Bipin Gupta (Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society), Mukesh Verma (Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society), Dr Gurpreet Singh Wander (Principal, DMC&H), Dr. Bishav Mohan, Chief Cardiologist & Coordinator at Hero DMCH Heart Institute, Dr Vivek Gupta, Consultant, Cardiac Anaesthesia & Critical Care and Manjit Bawa, Assistant Nursing Superintendent at HDHI.
