DMC&H welcomes Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Pediatric Hemato-Oncologist
Dr. Gurpreet Singh, who has done Fellowship in Pediatric Hemato Oncology has joined division of hemato-oncology in the department of pediatrics at DMC&H.
Ludhiana, July 29, 2024: Dr. Gurpreet Singh, who has done Fellowship in Pediatric Hemato Oncology has joined division of hemato-oncology in the department of pediatrics at DMC&H.
He completed his fellowship at the renowned ‘Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, New Delhi and also served as a junior consultant in Bone Marrow transplant and cellular therapy at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in New Delhi. He has got experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of hematological and solid cancers in children, his expertise encompasses conditions such as leukemia, lymphoma, sarcomas, neuroblastoma, among others. His comprehensive approach ensures that each patient receives personalized and cutting-edge treatment, aimed at achieving the best possible outcomes.
Bipin Gupta, Secretary of the DMC&H Managing Society and Dr. G.S. Wander, Principal DMCH, congratulated Dr. Gurpreet Singh on his appointment to the institute and they further emphasised we are committed to provide world class and advanced facilities not only cancer children from the state but also from other regions.
DMCH’s also has Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) unit, pioneered by Dr.Suvir Singh, is celebrating its fourth anniversary with a milestone of 75 successful transplants. Dr.Suvir received extensive training from CMC Vellore, and has an experience of performing and managing complications of more than 300 transplants. The unit at DMCH has successfully treated patients with various blood disorders, including ten pediatric cases, ranging from 9 months to 15 years of age. To further strengthen its pediatric care, the BMT unit has welcomed a new pediatric oncologist Dr Gurpreet Singh to the team. Together, they aim to expand the scope of pediatric transplants and undertake more complex paediatric cases.
Dr Anubhav Sharma, Assistant professor in Orthopedics and first in the state to have undergone training Fellowship in Bone & Soft tissue OncoSurgery, from Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Center Delhi . He has also done Surgical Observer ship in Bone & Soft tissue OncoSurgery at Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai. He has Expertise in Paediatric Oncology Surgical Procedures like cancers of all long bones, and other tumors of the bones also with limb salvage surgeries.
With world class radiotherapy unit in DMCH, currently DMCH is managing all types of cancers in children, including leukemia and solid tumors of all organs with excellent team of pediatric oncologist, haematologist, oncosurgeons and specially trained pediatric bone tumors orthopaedic surgeon alsoand planning to expand the services further.
