DM&H hosts Punjab Stroke and Intervention Conference (PSICON 2024)

The Department of Neurology at DMCH hosted a two-day Conference on Punjab Stroke and Intervention Conference (PSICON) a significant event aimed at advancing knowledge and practices in stroke management and intervention. The theme of the conference is BOOST: Bridging knowledge gaps to Optimize Outcomes in Stroke Therapeutics.

Ludhiana, August 4, 2024: The Department of Neurology at DMCH hosted a two-day Conference on Punjab Stroke and Intervention Conference (PSICON) a significant event aimed at advancing knowledge and practices in stroke management and intervention. The theme of the conference is BOOST: Bridging knowledge gaps to Optimize Outcomes in Stroke Therapeutics.

The highlights of the conference were Debates and panel discussion on newer aspects of stroke management, hands on workshop for acute stroke interventions, live demonstration of DSA and carotid stenting and stroke thrombolysis masterclass.

The event provided a platform for leading neurologists, stroke specialists, and healthcare professionals from across the region for sharing the latest research, technological advancements, and best practices in stroke care.

Day one of the conference covered the pre-conference workshop with the topic of stroke masterclass: from fundamentals to advanced techniques which was attended by more than 100 participants.

The conference was started with lamp lightening ceremony, dignitaries who graced the occasion were Mukesh Kumar, Treasurer DMC&H Managing Society DMC&H, Dr Sandeep Sharma, Medical Supdt., Dr Sandeep Kaushal Dena Academics, Dr. Nirmal Surya, Neuropsychologist, Marine Lines, Mumbai Dr Dr Jeyaraj D Pandia,  Professor and Head of Neurology and the Principal/Dean from Christian Medical College (CMC), Ludhiana.

In his message, Mukesh Kumar, Treasurer DMC&H Managing Society lauded the efforts of Department of Neurology, DMC&H for conducting the workshop and highlighted that Department of Neurology at DMC&H has state of the art facilities to treat the stroke patients.

Dr Gagandeep Singh, Organising Chairman and Dr Dhanjay Gupta, Organising Secretary  of the conference  welcomed all the delegates and  highlighted the  recent advancements in stroke intervention and the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to stroke management. Further, they sated that The Punjab Stroke and Intervention Conference has provided invaluable insights and fostered a spirit of collaboration among medical professional and improve.

In his address, Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics congratulated the organizing team for the conference and highlighted that our institution has always been at the forefront of medical education and research this conference is another step in our journey of excellence.

The conference concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr Monika Singla and Dr BS Paul, member organizing committee expressed gratitude to all the esteemed speakers, participants and delegates for their valuable contribution for the success of the conference.

Attendees had the opportunity to engage in interactive workshops, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions with experts, fostering a collaborative environment. More than 200 participants attended this conference.
