Doaba College organizes Panel Discussion on “Modi Sarkar: Achievements and Failures”
PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Doaba College, Jalandhar organised a panel discussion on the topic, "Modi Sarkar: Achievements and Failures.
Jalandhar, August 14, 2023: PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Doaba College, Jalandhar organised a panel discussion on the topic, "Modi Sarkar: Achievements and Failures.
Panelists of the discussion were Chandar Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal, Raman Meer, Editor, Kabristan Web Portal and Rimanshu Gaba, Deputy Editor, Dainik Savera TV.
Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Principal, Doaba College and Dr. Simran Sidhu, Head, PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication welcomed the guests with a sapling.
Under the topic, various matters of concern including Manipur Incident, National Security, Issues of Kashmiri Pandits, New Education Policy 2020, Significant Developments in Media and Economy etc were discussed.
While answering the questions of the students Chandar Mohan said, that digitization introduced by this government has undoubtedly reduced the corruption and we need skill based educational transformation. He emphasized that if people of the society are happy then internal security will improve automatically.
Raman Meer from Khabristan said that every incident must be understood in social, political, economical and geographical context and background.
Rimanshu Gaba, expressed that students of Journalism should learn to remain unbiased and must train themselves to do fearless and research based journalism and should also explore the other options of social media platforms.
Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari insisted that the change in the country must come from within and every national problem or challenge must be looked upon as an opportunity to improve. He also highlighted the key features of NEP 2020 as one of the major achievements of Government at Centre and hoped that government would implement it properly.
Head, Department of Journalism Dr. Simran Sidhu formally thanked the panelists and students for their active participation and involvement. Around 120 students of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication participated in the Panel Discussion.
