Doaba College Organizes Reunion 2021-Alumni Meet

Jalandhar: Doaba College Jalandhar Alumni Association (DCJAA) organized Reunion-2021 Online Alumni Meet. It was attended by the students and faculty of the College spread across the many academic sessions.. Prof. Gurdish Saini gave the introductory address. Principal Dr Pardeep Bhandari and Dr. Avinash Bawa- Convenor accorded a hearty welcome to Chander Mohan-President, Managing Committee and Chief Guest,  Alok Sondhi-General Secretary and Alumnus  and other 260 distinguished alumnae 260 . 

Dr. Pardeep Bhandari stated that the purpose of the alumni meet was to create job opportunities for college students, to use rich  professional experience of alumni for the benefit of deserving and needy students and to the establish  a world class skill development centre to increase employability of the students. Harish Gupta-Director-MG Industries and   alumnus shared his memories spent in college. Rajiv Rai, Managing Director, AR International Holdings Ltd. shared his initiative of developing a vibrant Alumni Association Website. Sushil Kohli ace water polo player and swimmer -Dhayan Chand Awardee, shared his old experience of learning swimming by coaches of College which helped him in winning many prestigious awards and position in national and international arena . Sushil Kohli showed his keenness to help in construction of modern state of  art swimming pool .The event was kept lively by playing games under the “Sunehri Yaadein” section. Arushi, a former student, played musical notes on her guitar on the song ‘Zindagi’.

Gurpreet Ghuggi, a renowned Bollywood actor and ace comedian stated that he owed his identity to his alma matter. Mr. Avtar Singh, NSS National Awardee, Dr. Kapil Gupta, General Physician, Kapil Hospital, Jalandhar shared their old memories of the college. Dr. Ashok Goyal, Emeritus Professor, Dept. of Pharmacology, Government Medical College, Amritsar, recalled his time and felt indebted to the teachers who helped him financially to pay his fees and books. Alok Sondhi General Secretary- College Managing Committee -Guest of Honor and alumnus  assured his commitment to be with college for its betterment in every way. Chander Mohan congratulated the Principal, thanked all the alumnae and hoped to conduct alumni meet on the College Campus next year.
