Docs and Staff at DMCH contribute in their capacity on ‘World Environment Day’
Dr Monika Singla, Associate Professor of Neurology, says she has all along been environment friendly
Ludhiana: Today is ‘World Environment Day’ and it holds much greater significance in today’s times when there is pandemic around. With rise of industrial pollution, increasing number of vehicles on roads, deforestation, cutting of tress and other factors have contributed significantly in environmental degradation. It has really played havoc with the healthy life of individuals.
There are many doctors and staff in DMCH, who contribute a lot in their capacity to enhance environment around.
Dr Monika Singla, Associate Professor of Neurology, says that though she has all along been environment friendly but ever since pandemic has struck the country, she has become much more focused in growing plants inside home and outdoor also. This activity creates a lot of happiness and satisfaction, when there is nothing much to do in otherwise normal routine, says Dr Monika Singla
Another employee Ms Nisha Chandel (in Billing Department of DMCH), an avid gardener, has grown many plants and flowers to beautify her surroundings and also encourage her friends and colleagues to find time for this environment- friendly activity. An interest in gardening and working with plants is a way for better interest of the community—and save the earth. Her other close friends have also started taking keen interest in improving the environment and make life better for everyone, ever since the city is kept under lockdown.
In present times, when there are no regular schools, parents are also encouraging their children to create interest in gardening and plantation activities.
An 8-years old ‘Devansh’ has also recently developed keen interest in gardening and plant sampling as her mother Deepak Sharma after getting back from office spares much time in teaching his son activities pertaining to plantation and gardening. Some is the case with 2 years old girl ‘Anaisha’ who enjoys watering plants at her home. Her parents developed this habit of watering plants at this tender age so that she develops liking for maintaining safe and healthy environment.
