Dog bite cases increased in Dharamshala

Dharamshala, March 31, 2019: Dog menace has increased within the boundaries of Municipal corporation Dharamshala. Nobody can dare to walk around in the ‘mohalla’ localities alone, especially during the late night hours. The dog gangs are generally attacking the senior citizens, children and ladies. The population of stray dogs has been increased multi fold during the past few years. On one hand these dog troops are attacking and biting the citizens and the other animals, and on the other polluting the streets roads and the public places of the city, totally rejecting the idea implementation of smart City Dharamshala.

Dog bite cases have been increased considerably in Dharamshala, the official of the district hospital confirms that more than a dozen dog bite cases are being registered in the hospital and others, getting private treatment are go unnoticed.

When asked, Deputy CMO Kangra Dr R Guleri said, "Anti-rabies vaccine and anti-rabies serum both are available in all health institutions of the district (PHC and above) free of cost and latest WHO treatment protocol is being followed for it.”

The principal of Tanda Medical college Dr Bhanu Awasthi informed that there is no shortage of medicine in the institution.
