Directs officials to keep vigil over the situation to be able to deal recent spike efficiently
Ludhiana: Keeping in view the recent spike in the Covid cases, the Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma has urged the residents of district to the not to be complacent and adhere to follow all safety precautions that include wearing masks, washing hands, and maintaining social distancing till the war against pandemic is not over.
In his weekly Facebook live session, Deputy Commissioner reiterated that district administration is fully equipped with the resources and the manpower to combat Covid-19, and no stone would be left unturned for this cause besides solicited people’s support to win over this ongoing battle against the pandemic.
He appealed to people not to be complacent about the pandemic and follow all safety precautions.
He told the people that directions have been issued to all Covid sampling teams to maximize the sampling so that the more and more people could be screened daily.
He further called upon people to come forward for the testing and play a proactive role in this mammoth exercise to check the virus spread in the district adding he laid thrust on the need for contact tracing and home isolation of the positive patients at the earliest.
DC said that the only way to contain the virus spread was to screen maximum people and separate the positive patients from the normal people to protect them from virus spread.
He also briefed about the restrictions announced by Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh from March 1 in the state regarding capping the indoor gathering of 100 people and outdoor to 200 people.
