Don’t neglect spinal health: Dr. Gaurav Sharma
“The spine plays a critical role in our daily lives, allowing us to walk, sit, and perform a myriad of movements. It not only provides structural support but also houses the central nervous system, which regulates every bodily function.”
Bathinda, October 15, 2024: “The spine plays a critical role in our daily lives, allowing us to walk, sit, and perform a myriad of movements. It not only provides structural support but also houses the central nervous system, which regulates every bodily function.”
Speaking on the eve of World Spine Day, Dr. Gaurav Sharma, neurosurgeon at Max Hospital Bathinda said that when spinal health is neglected, it can lead to a range of serious conditions, such as herniated discs, spinal stenosis, and degenerative disc disease.
He further said that chronic back pain, sciatica, and even nerve damage are common consequences of these issues. If left untreated, these conditions can affect mobility, and overall quality of life, and in some cases, require surgical intervention, he informed.
Dr Gaurav further informed that your spine is the pillar that supports your entire body, yet it's often overlooked in daily life.
Small steps today can prevent major problems tomorrow and keep your back in action for years to come, he opined.
