The Dr. Ambedkar Chair on Human Rights & Environmental Values at the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, organized the 2nd Dr. Ambedkar Memorial Lecture-2025 on the theme “Samkalin Bharat evam Dr. Ambedkar ki Saanskritik Chetna.” The event, held under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra Prasad Tiwari, was coordinated by Prof. Kanhaiya Tripathi, Chair Professor.

Bathinda, March 29, 2025: The Dr. Ambedkar Chair on Human Rights & Environmental Values at the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda, organized the 2nd Dr. Ambedkar Memorial Lecture-2025 on the theme “Samkalin Bharat evam Dr. Ambedkar ki Saanskritik Chetna.” The event, held under the patronage of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra Prasad Tiwari, was coordinated by Prof. Kanhaiya Tripathi, Chair Professor.

Prof. Anil Dutta Mishra, an eminent scholar, advisor at Sulabh International, and former editor, delivered a thought-provoking lecture. He highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s remarkable journey, resilience, and contributions to India’s development. He urged the audience to adopt four key lessons from Dr. Ambedkar’s life—self-help, dignity, introspection, and self-esteem—as guiding principles for personal and societal growth.

Prof. Mishra emphasized the importance of studying Dr. Ambedkar’s works holistically rather than selectively. He stated that Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions transcend geographical and social boundaries, aiming for the upliftment of all humanity. He also noted that Dr. Ambedkar opposed hero worship and instead stressed the values of duty and integrity.

As a special guest, Prof. Bawa Singh discussed Dr. Ambedkar’s role in shaping Indian society and nation-building. Prof. Kanhaiya Tripathi concluded the event with his insights on Dr. Ambedkar’s idea of India.

The event was anchored by Dr. Ashwani Kumar, with active participation from faculty members Dr. Manabhanjan Meher, Dr. Kadem Srinivas, and Dr. Manish Agrawal. Research scholars Naresh Prajapati, Manoj Kumar, Dr. Rekha Rani, Sheelu Devi, and Digonta Das from the Dr. Ambedkar Chair played key roles in organizing the event.

The lecture witnessed enthusiastic participation from university students, research scholars, and faculty members, who gained valuable insights into Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and its relevance in contemporary India.
