Dr Falak's Poetry Collection "Canvas Ke Paas" and Dr Shergill's Storybook "Memory Lane" launched 

Sahitya Sirjna Manch Amargarh recently hosted a vibrant literary gathering at Islamia Girls College, Malerkotla, to mark the launch of two remarkable books: Canvas Ke Paas, a Hindi poetry collection by Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Falak, and Memory Lane, a storybook by Dr. Karnail Shergill.

Ludhiana, September 3, 2024: Sahitya Sirjna Manch Amargarh recently hosted a vibrant literary gathering at Islamia Girls College, Malerkotla, to mark the launch of two remarkable books: Canvas Ke Paas, a Hindi poetry collection by Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Falak, and Memory Lane, a storybook by Dr. Karnail Shergill. 

Dr. Falak is a multilingual poet, writing in both Punjabi and Hindi, adding depth to her creative repertoire.

The event began with a warm welcome from College Principal Dr. Rahila Khan. This was followed by a poetic recital, where Sandeep Kaur and two students eloquently presented selected works from Canvas Ke Paas, setting a reflective tone for the occasion.

Jasveer Rana, a renowned storyteller, described Dr. Falak's poetry as an innovative fusion of sensitivity and objectivity, deeply rooted in her subconscious mind. He linked her work to deconstruction theory, offering insight into its multi layered complexity. 

Dr. Muhammad Khalil lauded her collection as a profound psychological exploration within Hindi poetry, while Dr. Muhammad Shafiq highlighted the seamless blend of nature and love in her verses. Shahid Parvez, in turn, highlighted  the thematic depth and literary merit of her poems. 

Poet Vishal further enriched the discussion with a thought-provoking dialogue on intertextuality, unraveling the nuanced layers of meaning in Dr. Falak's work. 

Dr. Rajinder Singh Sahil also emphasized the fluidity of her poetic expression, showcasing her unique style.

In her speech, Dr. Jaspreet Kaur Falak reflected on her poetic journey, shedding light on the intricacies of the female psyche as a powerful means of enhancing awareness of womanhood and its evolving narrative.

The second part of the event saw the unveiling of Dr. Karnail Shergill’s Memory Lane, adding yet another literary shine  to the celebration. He shared his thoughts on the characters and their message in his stories.  Both authors were honored by Sahitya Sirjan Manch for their significant contributions to literature. The event also featured the release of the latest issue of the literary magazine Akhar, edited by Vishal.

Prof. Kaukb Usmani’s impeccable stage management ensured a smooth conclusion to this memorable day, leaving a lasting impression on the literary community.
