Ludhiana, May 9, 2016: Government of Punjab has nominated Dr KNS Kang, President, Ludhiana Management Association (LMA), as Director of the Ludhiana Smart City Limited Company. This is a special purpose vehicle (SPV) incorporated under the companies act to implement the Ludhiana Smart City Mission projects under the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD), Govt. of India, formed under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary to Government of Punjab.
The other directors on the company are very senior bureaucrats such as principal secretary/secretary Local Government, Punjab ; Chief Executive officer, Punjab Municipal Infrastructure; Mayor Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana; nominee of the Ministry of Urban Development Govt. of India ; Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana; Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana Chief Executive Officer of SPV ; Chief Engineer Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, Vice Chairman, Punjab State Planning Board; & Chief Engineer, Punjab State Power Corporation, Ludhiana & to nominees of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India.
Dr Kang assured to actively participate in developing Ludhiana as a smart city.
