DR. PUSHPINDER SINGH AULAKH JOINS AS DIRECTOR, HORTICULTURE, PUNJAB

Ludhiana, April 24, 2017: Serving as Additional Director, Extension Education in Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, Dr. Pushpinder Singh Aulakh has been appointed as Director, Horticulture, Punjab. Dr.Aulakh was born in 1958 in village Lakkarvala, district Muktsar. He acquired his Ph.D. degree in Horticulture from Punjab Agricultural University, where he joined as Assistant Horticulturist in the year 1987. Along with serving as the Head of the Department of Horticulture, Punjab Agricultural University, he also served as the director of various Regional Research Centers. He contributed significantly in thirty-eight research recommendations for the cultivation of citrus, grapes, guava, ber, amla, papaya, fig, pomegranate and date-palm. He also worked as the Principal Investigator of two major research projects. Dr. Aulakh has authored two books, one hundred and four research papers and one thirty nine popular articles. It is worth mentioning that because of the contributions made by him, many institutions/societies have honored him in order to appreciate his effort.
