Dr. R S Sethi of Vet Varsity Honored with National Fellowship
Ludhiana, January 24, 2024: Dr. R. S. Sethi, Additional Director, Research, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, has been honoured with the esteemed title of Fellow by the Society for Immunology and Immunopathology (SIIP) in acknowledgment of his exceptional achievements and significant impact on the field of immunology and immunopathology. The honour was conferred during the SIIP’s Annual convention and International Conference at Ganeshi Lal Agrawal (GLA) University, Mathura. Pertinent to mention that Dr Sethi is actively involved in various international collaborations including member of Steering Committee for World Veterinary Association’s (WVA) project on Global Quality Standards for Veterinary Education and Project coordinator of Collaborative Research and Training Experience (CREATE) program on Genome Editing for Food Security and Environment Sustainability (GEFSES) in collaboration with University of McGill Canada and University of Saskatchewan, Canada.
Dr JPS Gill, Director of Research, congratulated for the honour and informed that Dr Sethi’s research focus is on airway hyper-responsiveness and characterization of single cell transcriptome(s) and proteomes of immune cells during host pathogen interplay. Dr Sethi and his team first time immune-characterized and reported the presence of Pulmonary intravascular macrophages in buffalo lung. They are also pioneers to report the presence of Neutrophil Extracellular Trap (Netosis) in the buffalo neutrophils. Dr Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor extended heartfelt congratulations to Dr R S Sethi for this outstanding achievement and said that such accomplishments not only elevate the university's reputation but also contribute significantly to the broader academic community.
